Thursday Surfing; Abe Drops By For Dinner

Jacob's friends suggested that a fun activity for the family would be to take surf lessons. Even though it was a rainy morning, they would get wet anyway, so it didn't matter. (Except for Laurie and Claire watching from the beach who got very wet.)

First came the instruction part.

Then it was out to the water to give it a try.

The children were excited for lunch at the Spaghetti Factory after working up an appetite in the ocean.

Meanwhile...Glen and I went off to the Mormon Battalion again for the second time in a week. We kept with tradition of eating lunch at Tequila Factory before the tour. This is our latest group of new missionaries and their trainers just finishing up The First 12 Weeks of training.

That evening we had a special visitor drop by for dinner--ABE!!!

He was in San Diego for work and just couldn't pass up an opportunity to come see Jacob's family while they were in town. So FUN!!

 Jacob was proudly showing Abe their surfing videos from earlier in the day.

Family dinner is so much better the more family there is to enjoy it together.

Glen drove Abe back to San Diego later that evening. It was nice to have him here if even for a short few hours!!
