G and K and What They Say: 2025

The second escape room at Escape Boredom is now finished. It takes a lot of work to get a room built, painted, wired, and ready to open to the public.

The painting of gazillions of multi-sized and multi-colored squares all throughout this room had me marveling at Haley's patience and painting ability.

Ben was busy making the cave and the games and puzzles that are in there.

Clearfield City advertised Escape Boredom and also made a cute video of the four of them in the new escape room.

One of our favorite Christmas traditions is to go to Bill and Jan Evans's home for prime rib dinner. She has expanded it to include crab legs as well. The food is always delicious and being with our friends is the best gift ever.

At this dinner we do a random gift exchange which is pretty fun to see what is in each of the wrapped gifts.

We were invited to attend Carson's junior high school choir performance. He is on the middle row, fourth from the right.

In this photo Carson is third from the right. We were impressed with the teacher who not only conducted but played one song on the flute while conducting. Impressive! She also had her husband accompany her on the first few songs.

An ice cream treat was promised to the brothers attending the concert. We are coming to know Kaysville Creamery quite well since Sarah's family moved to Kaysville.

We were able to attend a Christmas piano recital for Jonah and Carson.

I love the recitals. It is a great way to see the progression in their piano-playing skills. Sad announcement was made by the teacher that she will be retiring in a few months and suggested the parents start now to find a new piano teacher.

Jonah started the recital off playing his two songs.

Both Jonah and Carson seem to have a flare for rhythm and music. I love seeing that in them.

The piano teacher played the last song and she was quite amazing. Great way to finish up the evening with a flourish watching her hands fly across the keys. She hosted the recital in her home and had refreshments for the students and their families at the end.

Abe shared with us this Christmas performance with Monty looking so angelic with his face resting on his two hands.

Sarah and Jeff went to Cedar City to spend Christmas time with the Excell family. Jeff's mother always has fun activities for the grandchildren to participate in. Looks like a live nativity is part of their family tradition.

Jeff and Sarah met in Cedar City when they were going to school at Southern Utah University.

We had a surprise visit from our California friends the Marins. He was one of Glen's counselors in the mission presidency and will be forever grateful to Glen for the tutelage he received from Glen as they served together.

President Marin went on to serve as mission president of the Mexico Cancun Mission, and he is now serving as an Area Seventy over several California stakes. They are such loving, giving people.

We got the house all ready for the Ward family Christmas Eve dinner party.

Through the years I have enjoyed watching the grandchildren play with, and rearrange, the wooden nativity set Amanda made for us.

I asked Maverick which piece was his favorite and he chose the star.

We were watching Ben's boys that day so Ben and Haley could work at Escape Boredom. The boys were anxious for their cousins to arrive and decided to do some racing while waiting. Love their get ready stances.

Glen was the score keeper and the green rug was the finish line.

We had 52 people total in our home for dinner. Everyone brought lots of good food. We had it in the early afternoon so families could do their own thing in the evening.

Nani's ice cream/sherbet holiday drink is always a hit.

Abe's family: Abe, Klarissa, Newland, Wynne, Magnus, and Monty.

Got a little nervous when both Spencer and Abe got ski Christmas gifts. Hopefully there will be snow soon...???

Sarah's family: Jeff, Sarah, Eli, Carson, Lincoln, and Jonah.

Ben's family: Ben, Haley, Kade, Levi, and Maverick.

We had missed Ben and Haley on Christmas Eve and were so happy to have them and the rest of our children and grandchildren residing in Utah with us for dinner on Christmas Day. We were thinking of the other two families who are living in different states. Love them all!!!!
