We were able to attend another play at Hale. Footloose was absolutely fabulous and I was sorry Dad and Mom missed it. They were invited to a Cache Valley Electric dinner party that evening, so they were doing something nice.
Of course, Rebecca and Caroline were thrilled to be able to use the tickets in their place.
The set designs are always fascinating to look at since there is so much creativity that goes into each play. This time I was enjoying the hundreds of pairs of shoes that were hanging above the stage.
When the play began, the circular streamers were raised just high enough to see a bunch of dancing feet.
It was a surprise to see this photo Nani sent of her, Dad, and Mom all together at church on a Sunday with Elder Ahmad S. Corbitt.
He is in Darcel and Teena Stucki's ward and they were speaking prior to leaving on their mission. Elder Corbitt was Nani's friend Jan's granddaughter's mission president in the Dominican Republic.
It is so nice seeing Mom out and about once again. She and Dad went to Preston and Danielle's baby blessing another week. How wonderful for Mom to be able to go to church and to the temple and do the things she was unable to do for quite a while.
This was the sign that after months of talking about it and putting it off until after our busy summer plans, it was finally going to happen.
We were getting new windows on the front and sides of the house, and we were also getting a new front door. That has been long overdue for a change.
The workers arrived and began covering everything in plastic as they worked on getting the old windows out and the new windows installed.
Our house was a mess for several days during this process.
There was also fine dust everywhere and on everything. We were living in a gritty home, and I was so anxious to get started on cleaning the second the installers were finished with the big project.

Since the furniture had been moved to the back half of the living room, I decided we should take advantage of cleaning the carpets. Glen so kindly offered to do the job, and I really appreciated the clean look and feel of our home after that chore was completed.
The next day Glen went to the foot doctor in anticipation of getting his boot off since he had been wearing it for six weeks.
When he reported to the doctor that a couple of weeks earlier his foot was hurting, and when he admitted he had been playing pickleball at the family reunion, and when I reported he had also run up the sandy beach and across the lawn to catch up to Jeff, and also he hasn't been wearing his boot when he exercises and when he gets up during the night to go to the bathroom, and he could add he shampooed the whole house, she gave him the what for!!
She said if he wants to get better, he should wear the boot for another week walking absolutely nowhere without the boot. She told him to use a shower chair, and we pulled out the scooter for him to use in the night and mornings while he gets ready for the day. Lesson learned??!!??
Emma's boyfriend, Wesley, parked Herbie in our driveway when Glen took him to the airport so he could fly to Omaha and meet Jacob and see Emma after her weeks-long absence doing her study abroad this summer.
I have to say, it made me happy each time I opened the garage and spotted Herbie or whenever we drove up the street and saw Herbie there in our driveway.
Glen thought it would be fun to watch The Love Bug in honor of Herbie sitting in our driveway. Those movies were great entertainment back in the day.
We picked up both Emma and Wesley from the airport upon their return back to Utah. It appeared absence made their hearts grow fonder--or at least kept their hearts feeling as fond for each other as before their summer separation.
We had bought tickets to Gentri performing at Hale, and when the day got closer and Glen realized we would have to miss the Saturday's meetings of our stake conference, he felt impelled, as the new stake patriarch, to go to stake conference instead.
I felt impelled to not let Nani down and recruited Sarah to go in her father's place.
The concert was amazing! I love this musical group. They play my kind of music. They were celebrating their 10th anniversary of when they met at Hale and were performing together in Les Miserables. Loved hearing them and loved being with Nani and Sarah.
We went to eat at HuHot Mongolian Grill and then they dropped me off at the stake center so I could get in on the last half of the evening meeting.
Afterward, we had been asked to meet for a few minutes with Elder Thomas Morgan, who was the visiting authority, his wife, and President and Sister Gardner. It was a sweet experience, and I was glad attending Gentri hadn't prevented me from being there for that.
Well it looks like school has started. Magnus (far right) was looking cute in his class photo.

Ben and Haley took their boys to New York for a week. They enjoy going out on Haley's parents' boat.

The Golden children were a little late starting school this year--two days late to be exact.
Their delay had been due to a big family vacation they had talked about for years.
It has been their family goal to go to Paris. Their children have been enrolled in French immersion classes since Kindergarten. It was a good year to go because Brooke just graduated from high school.

It was fun to listen to the recap of the trip. My takeaway was they thought the trip was long.
The first part of the vacation both Rebecca and Madison were feeling sick to their stomachs. They had a hard time finding food all of them liked in Paris and were frustrated with no water fountains or easily accessible rest rooms.
On the other hand, they loved London. They were doing different things there. They all loved the Back to the Future Musical. That part of the trip was the best.
We loved getting their updates and I was very happy when they arrived back in the U.S.A. safely and especially happy their flights got them home at the time they were supposed to get home so they could go to their first (really the third) day of school the next day.
