The weather thus far on our cruise was not cooperating all that well with giving us any sunshine or blue skies. I actually didn't mind the overcast sky too much because it sure helped me out with the side effect of wearing a seasickness patch behind my ear. The patch causes me to have dilated eyes, which would mean wearing sunglasses every time I went on deck or went on a land excursion. But this trip--sunglasses were not needed until the last two days when we finally saw blue skies.
The deck was full of deck chairs that never got used because it was cold and rainy.
I'm not even sure if anyone ever mini-golfed or did inline skating or played basketball or climbed the climbing wall because it was pretty cold and wet. I know I never went up on those decks except for this one time when I snapped these photos.
There was a game room on the upper deck.
A music lounge called Dizzy's was one of the places a band was playing at different times each evening.
We walked in a sports bar on that upper deck and noticed highlights of a football game being shown.
I looked closer and noticed we'd walked in there just in time to get the update on the BYU football game of the day before. I knew Glen was going to be so mad when we saw the score Utah State 24 and BYU 20.
Then the announcer was reporting that right at the end of the game, BYU managed to score a winning touchdown. WOW!! That must have been quite the game. Too bad Glen was out of town on a work trip and wasn't even at the game to see all the excitement.
We did some more exploring of the ship and found the Skylight Chapel. We did not attend any services in that chapel (or in any other chapel, for that matter).
Another breakfast eaten in the Windjammer Cafe. This morning we lucked out getting a great table right by the window.
Our excursion that day was a Portland Highlights bus tour.
This was the absolute only picture I took while on that excursion. We stopped at a mansion and went in to take a look around.
Good thing I snapped a few photos of Portland from the ship so I could remember a little bit about what we saw there. Don't know why I wasn't taking many pictures that day.
We went back to the ship to eat lunch and to satisfy Dad's craving of a soft-serve ice cream cone. He was not happy to discover yogurt instead of the real deal, so that was the last of the ice cream cone eating for him on that cruise.
Our waiter, Vincente, had started a curious habit of bringing us plates of fruit, cheeses and nuts along with the appetizers we ordered. We started looking around and realized we were the only table getting this extra food. And we got this extra food every single night for the rest of the cruise.
Ahhhh, Vincente was way too good to us...!
Dinner and desserts for that evening were delicious and decorative as usual.
Entertainment for the evening was Hal Frazier who sang some lovely songs.
Nani and I are in front of our room with the Legacy sign taped up to our door. Yes, we were one of the family tree groupees.
This was a fun thing we saw--monkeys climbing palm trees. So cute!
We certainly didn't need any towel art after viewing such clever fruit art.

Too bad you missed the football game--but it is exciting you got to see highlights on SportsCenter!
