This is what was going on when Glen was helping Dad do his taxes. No, it was not raining in Dad's office. He had just had a blue light procedure done on his head and he was supposed to stay out of the light for two days. Great idea of how to protect himself from the bright window light right behind him.
When the taxes were finished, we ate a Texas Roadhouse take-out lunch in a darkened kitchen. It looks bright even though Mom had closed the blinds and we kept the light off.
On March 4th, we got a huge dumping of snow that fell in about 2 hours' time. It was crazy!
Diane hosted a friends' luncheon at her home. I love it when she makes her homemade rolls.
Cute little Montgomery Truman Thomas celebrated his third birthday.
Rebecca very happily took Glen's place at Hale for the play Fiddler on the Roof.
Glen had invited Kenny to go to Provo to watch a BYU basketball game on the day of the big snow dumping and decided to cancel. He felt like he should invite Kenny to the last ball game of the season played on home court and chose that activity over going to the play.
It was such a fabulous play!! We loved it so much and I was so sad Glen missed it since he really enjoys the musicals. We went to dinner at Red Lobster after the play as per our usual routine.
Once we got to Kansas City, we ate dinner at Red Door Woodfired Grill. It was delicious!
Glen drove to the airport to pick up Abe very late that evening. I opted to stay at the hotel and was happy to see our son the next morning at breakfast. He greeted me with this t-shirt with our faces plastered across his chest. He was showing his love for us!!
The three of us spent that day together watching the first two games of the tournament.
Abe and Jacob pulled a quick one on us with the surprise of having purchased tickets at center court, six rows up for this session of two games. When their favorite team was playing, they wanted to be right close to the action. Abe told Glen to try and sell our tickets for that session and Glen was able to do that.
Do you think we got there early enough???!!!??? And do these four guys look happy and excited or what??
And it was a win for BYU!!!!!
We went back for the evening session of two ball games. Abe was carrying his computer because he is always working on vacation.
During the first game, we were all getting this emergency alert on our phones.
These were our seats that Glen had purchased for us as soon as tickets became available. Not our preferred spot, but not way up in the rafters either.
Abe found us an Italian restaurant and the food was delicious.
After dinner we walked around Historic City Market
Since we lived in Missouri many years ago and Glen drove all around Kansas City for his job, he was having a walk down memory lane pointing out various landmarks and telling stories of long ago.

We took a walk along the river front while we enjoyed the sunset.
Well Abe got a payback when Glen had him make the midnight run to the airport to pick up Ben. I was expecting to see two sons at breakfast and was surprised when there were all three of our sons sitting there eating breakfast.
Jacob had gotten up super early and made the drive from Omaha to join us. We knew he was coming, but didn't know it would be first thing in the morning.
Off to the T-Mobile Center we went for another day's games. This day BYU was playing.
I very happily sat in Jacob's seat a couple of rows behind them. My spot was much quieter than sitting by them.
The next day we were back at the stadium. There's Jacob in the background on a work call. Glen is so thrilled to be retired and not have to take work calls while on vacation anymore.
We walked around trying to find somewhere to eat and came upon this happening scene where there were hoards of fans cheering when their team's band and cheerleaders were on stage.
The boys were excited to go to two escape rooms the next morning. Ben and his sisters are in the process of getting an escape room up and running, so he is always anxious to see other escape rooms.
They are scoping out the joint.

Abe had a conference call between escape rooms and was thrilled to see this building right across from the escape room.
Once again the boys had pulled a fast one and gotten much better seats for our BYU second game viewing pleasure. 
Unfortunately, the other team killed BYU and then they were out of the tournament.
We ate at the BBQ restaurant close by the stadium so we could return for the evening session.
Once back at the stadium, the boys got a dippin' dots ice cream treat. Ben said he could have used the snack the day before when we were starving. We ate much better this day than the day before.
His call was with Burn Boot Camp and he was doing his call right in front of one of their businesses with the business name visible behind him. That's our Abe for you!
We dined that day at my new favorite BBQ restaurant, Jack Stack's. We ordered so much food. My personal favorite was the baked beans. Best I ever tasted.
The play day continued when we went to Top Golf and the guys tried their hand at getting best score in the various games they were playing.
We all felt like we made the right decision. It made me happy to see Abe with his family. He got to spend his birthday with them instead of with us. Good choice!!
We made a great choice by going to the play. Luke was able to join the family for dinner at Olive Garden after the play. So fun to see this family again, if just for part of a day.
We drove halfway home, spending the night along the way. The next day was Sunday and we were able to tune into Jeff and Sarah's ward's church and watch Carson giving his first talk in sacrament meeting.
The second escape room was in an outdoor shopping center and I enjoyed sitting in the car, reading my book, and watching people go by. It was a quiet, peaceful reprieve after spending so many hours at the noisy, loud basketball games.
After that evening's session of games, and knowing BYU was out of the running, the three boys decided they did not want to stick around for the championship game the next day.
Jacob was already leaving early the next day so he could get to Luke's school play. Abe and Ben got to work changing their flights to leave a day earlier than planned. Jacob was our hero when he drove his brothers to the airport for them to catch their very early flights.
With the boys bidding us farewell that night, we also decided we did not have a desire to stay for the last game and got packed up to head out the next morning as well.
Because we left early, we decided to make a little detour to Omaha on our way home. We had been invited to watch the play Luke was in--Schoolhouse Rock. It was very cute with lots of catchy songs about various school subjects.

That was such a treat for us and a great thing to do on the Sabbath. We also were able to tune into our ward's sacrament meeting. It had been a very fun trip.
