March Madness - Glen Joins Abe and Newland in Texas for NCAA Final Four

Snow, snow, so much snow. Sure makes for a fun activity for the little ones to play in the snow and make a snowman.

This is typical Ben who can usually be found wearing shorts (and here no coat) all winter long. It appears he thought snow pants (and no coat) would be the proper attire for snowman making.

Andy was coming from a job south of us and Amanda was supposed to be coming to our home from North Ogden, but with yet another bad storm settling in, Amanda didn't venture out.

Andy had Glen help him do his and Rachel's taxes. He felt good getting that task accomplished.
This amount of snow in one snowfall seemed like the norm all winter long.
Monty is demonstrating what March is all about. If it isn't madness in March with the crazy snowstorms, it is March Madness in basketball.
Klarissa planned a surprise March Madness trip for Newland and Abe to go to Houston for the NCAA Final Four games.
Klarissa recruited Glen to go as well. He was great at keeping the surprise. I dropped him off at the airport and he was on his way to Texas unbeknownst to Abe and Newland.
Klarissa had Glen waiting at the airport to pick up Abe and Newland.
It looks like a happy surprise for Abe to see his father and Newland to see his grandfather there to pick them up.
They got to the hotel and went right to bed since it was 2 a.m. because the flight came in late. Klarissa had a reservation for them at Common Bond for their breakfast.
They ate breakfast and bought some carryout for later.

After breakfast they went to check out one of Abe's potential clients called Immersive Gamebox. As Abe is working on pitching companies, he likes to go and be a customer to help when he presents his pitch to the executives.

That evening was the first of two Final Four games. The next day Klarissa had another breakfast reservation for them.
That day Newland was registered in a dribbling-for-a-mile event which took them to the convention center where other activities were being held.

At the convention center they had multiple interactive booths set up. This was the Powerade booth where Newland is slamming a basketball.

They spent hours doing the various activities and consumed a lot of free treats while doing so. That evening they had a reservation at a nice steak restaurant.

They ended the evening by renting bikes and riding them around a park.
The next morning they went and played at Top Golf.

Then they went to play video games at Dave & Buster's.

Dinner that evening was at a Japanese steak house where they hurried to eat so they could get to the final game.
They hotel was within walking distance of the stadium.
After the final game, they took a parting picture before they headed home the next day.
Glen's Texas trip was over general conference weekend. While he was gone, Natalie came up on Saturday and we went to dinner at Winger's. She spent the night so she could be here the next day as well.
General conference weekend is the traditional ebelskivers breakfast. Ben and Levi got chocolate ebelskivers on Saturday morning.

Then their family came to our home on Sunday for the plain variety of ebelskivers along with Rebecca's and Sarah's families.

Nani joined us for Sunday dinner and Kade was happy to get hugs from Nani when she arrived.

After the last session of conference, it was time for fun, games and candy.

When I was cleaning the house Monday morning, I was looking through the papers on which the grandchildren were supposed to be taking notes of what they were hearing during general conference so they could share with everyone.

This note had me laughing.
Not quite sure which grandchild wrote it, but I think I am safe to say probably the majority of them had the same sentiment.
