Easter; April Birthdays; Abe's Family Leaves

Abe's family was with us all through Easter. Their family had colored Easter eggs. Newland made sure to show me the two eggs he had made that he didn't want eaten. I did enjoy making egg salad sandwiches out of some of the other decorated hard-boiled eggs. YUM!!

The family all congregated for Easter dinner. Haley's brother Cole (standing next to Glen) joined us for our meal. Natalie came up from Provo to spend the day with us.

My Dad came for dinner without Mom. We were sad to hear she was not feeling too well and had opted to stay home, but insisted Dad still come because she wasn't going to be doing any cooking that day.

There were fun and games and visiting together happening the rest of the day.

There was one sad spot in our day when Carson got a head injury. Jeff got him bandaged all up and when they got home, Sarah gave this update on him.
On Monday Abe flew to New York and then went toMinnesota for work while Klarissa and the four children spent the week with us. Our local grandchildren had had the week prior to Easter off school, so they were back in school.

Klarissa wasn't in any hurry to get back home because her children had their spring break the week after Easter.

Glen spent the morning playing games with the grandchildren.

Klarissa took the children on various activities each day. One night we met up with them at Settebello's in Salt Lake City for dinner.
It was a happy day when Abe returned from his work trips. Of course Cafe Rio was on the agenda upon his return.
They enjoyed a fun evening at the Planetarium.
They wanted Abe to have a chance to eat a Settebello's as well.
We had a run of April birthdays of three in one week. Wynne's 8th birthday was on April 11th. Jonah's birthday is two days later. His family went to Boondock's to celebrate his 6th birthday.

Carson's birthday is three days after Jonah's birthday. He is now an 11-year-old boy.

The two youngest cousins, Levi and Monty, were so cute playing together.
Kade brought a new game that he was excited to play.
The way to my gaming heart is to suggest playing one of my favorite games--Qwirkle.
Boys' night out first stop was Top Golf followed by Golden Corral.

Then it was some Immersive Gamebox gaming for the group.

The time for fun and games and cousins had come to an end.

Abe's family flew back to North Carolina. But, never fear, they will be returning. Summer will soon be here and that means family reunion time.

Glen has been enjoying working with my Dad on his finances. Usually Nani joins us, but she was in quarantine with Covid on the day that worked best for Dad.

While the financial planning was going on, I was visiting with Mom and Sam stopped by. It was nice to spend some time visiting with him, and we talked him into going to lunch at Goodwood with us.
Glen's brother Dave was turning 80--which called for a celebration. Hug Hes was the place we went. Funny thing was the day the siblings picked for the birthday celebration was on Maurine's birthday.
(Rich and Barbara, Ray and Maurine, Dave and Connie, Glen and me)
April is a very popular birthday month. Three in our friends' group have birthdays in April, which always calls for a luncheon celebration. We tried out a new restaurant--Annie's Cafe.
This time it was Colleen's brithday. Annie herself came out to visit with us and treated Colleen to a birthday crepe cake. It was so delicious that Jan decided to purchase the rest of the cake to take home with her.
Glen keeps scheduling missionaries for us to take to dinner. This time it was Maddox with Rachel Lindstrom Ferris and her husband Jacob.
Another day we had dinner at Goodwood with Matthew and Brianna Saxey.
We had our monthly El Matador Mexican lunch with Dave. We were very sad to learn Bonnie had fallen and fractured her back. It is very rough on Dave to have Bonnie in the memory care center--especially when she has hurt herself.
We tended these two little cuties, Kade and Levi, while Haley went to her prenatal appointment. They play so nicely together. Such sweet little buddy brothers.
I often get a laugh after the grandchildren have been here. This time I found Levi's most favorite toys in their cage downstairs in the basement.
When Nani felt like she was not contagious anymore, we went to her home for her monthly financial meeting.
We all wore masks just to be safe. Believe me--I don't want to get Covid again. Glen has never had it and he wants to keep it that way.
We fit Nani in our schedule right before we went out of town the next day.
