Skating; Lagoon; Game Playing; Thomas Family Reunion Ends

The Bear Lake portion of our trip came to an end rather abruptly for Glen and me. Glen had a job interview he had to hurry home for and so we left the house way before the group left.

After cleaning up the house and packing up their cars, the family lingered longer in the area by participating in Raspberry Days. Then they made a detour to go see Peter Sinks--a sinkhole near Bear Lake that is one of the coldest places in the contiguous United States.

Not realizing they needed off-road vehicles to get to the sinkhole, they never saw the sinkhole. It is amazing they did not get stranded. They did get a cute country group photo, though.

Once back at home, it was decided some skate time was a necessity for our group of rambunctious youngsters. So off to the skating rink we went.

The skating rink these days have a whole different "spin" to them as it seems anything with wheels is allowed on the floor.

 

Pizza for dinner was a bonus as it did not require any cooking from any of us.

That evening we had another t-shirt grand reveal for the family Lagoon shirts. Each family member's face was depicted on the shirt and the grandchildren loved finding their own faces and then trying to figure out who each of the other faces were.

The grandchildren stood next to a marked wall in the garage to see if they were tall enough to ride all the rides.

 Claire was a little one, so she got to spend time in Kiddie Land with my group.

In the morning, with us all wearing our appropriate Lagoon attire, Glen fixed French toast once again for the group.

Abe's family was the only one I could get to cooperate for a family photo before we left the house.

But, never fear--we all gathered together at Lagoon for family group shots before we split up into our respective groups to go ride the rides.

While still on our mission, Brooke tricked us one day by asking us to draw a picture of our faces so she could see how we draw. She is into drawing and so we each made a quick drawing, took pictures of them and texted them to Brooke.

It was exactly what Dallas needed from us to add to the collage of other family artwork faces for the family reunion t-shirt. Nice job, Brooke!! It was a surprise to us to see our artwork on the shirt.

Then they were off. The adventuresome group. The thrill seekers. The family members with the iron stomachs. The ones who could ride any ride without becoming queasy and sick to their stomachs. 

Well, most of them. I heard Jacob complaining of feeling a little nauseous later in the day.

I spent most of my time in Kiddie Land and that's just how I like it!! The kiddies are pretty cute and the lines weren't long at all.

It is the best idea ever to wear matching shirts at an amusement park. It is easier to keep track of everyone that way. The ride attendants don't have to ask how many in our group. They can see for themselves how many want to ride the ride together.

Lunch break was a welcome break from walking and riding.

Then they were off again. In search of fun and adventure.

This was our group of munchkins. Missing from the photo is 4-year-old Lincoln and baby Magnus.

It was sad the day the families started leaving to go back to their respective homes. There is something wonderful about being all together as a family. It always tears at my heart to have to say good-bye to our loved ones. So long Sarah and family!!

It's a good thing Jacob's family was sticking around a little longer.

 There were some games that needed to be played!!

Abe took his family to the airport so they could fly back east to spend some time with Klarissa's family. Abe stayed another night with us before he headed out on a business trip.

We had a former missionary Sister Cynthia Wagoner, her husband, her parents and her brother stop by for a visit in the middle of our family reunion. 

We let Costa Vida and Panda Express cook for us that evening.

We got in as much game playing as possible before bedtime.

Abe and I were amazing with our 4 one-word clues that earned each of our teams 4 words on the Codenames board.

Then before we knew it--Jacob's family had left to go back to Omaha and we were dropping Abe off at the airport.

It was fun while it lasted! We love our family! Cheers to the next Thomas Family Reunion--whenever and wherever that will be!!
