Ben's Birthday Build and Birthday Party

Ben and Haley enlisted the help of Glen to make a built-in cabinet in their basement family room. They were looking at cabinet option ideas at Home Depot.

Our good friends all joined together at Bill and Jan Evans' home for dinner. That all sounded fine and dandy when Jan extended the invitation several weeks prior to the dinner date.

Then she ended up having knee replacement surgery the week prior to the dinner date. She was determined she was still going to throw the dinner party. We could not believe it, but she insisted her daughters were going to help her out by setting the table and everyone (except us) brought something to contribute to the meal.

It was wonderful to be together again with our good friends. We were missing Lane and LaVona Lewis who are serving a Rome Temple Mission at this point in their lives.
I saw Carly Dickson, whose father lives across the street from us, and walked over to get caught up on how she's doing since I last saw her.

She helped make the connection that she now lives in the home ward in Woods Cross of one of our missionaries. Just had to take a picture and send it to our missionary. Great photo with our house in the background.
Glen is a popsicle stress eater. It has been so stressful trying to get so much stuff done each and every day and eventually it drove him to the freezer. Thanks to Rebecca for having those at the ready for him when he needed them.
Glen spent two days at Ben and Haley's home working on building the cabinet in their basement to their specifications.

The second day was Ben's birthday and I thought it very nice that the completed project was a wonderful birthday gift to him.

Haley threw a birthday celebration for Ben. She made tacos for everyone before we headed out on the birthday activities--plural.
Our first activity was social axe throwing. Never would have done that activity on our own. Ben, the birthday boy, and Haley proved to be a natural at it.

The rest of us (yes--that even included me) gave it a go.

After Ben and Haley clearly won at axe throwing, we moved on to another game where we all had to work together. It was an escape room. We were locked in a room and had a bunch of clues to help us solve the puzzles that eventually helped us be able to escape from the room.

Then it was back to our house for birthday cake to finalize the birthday bash for birthday Ben.

Glen took advantage of free Slurpees at 7 Eleven on 7-11-19. The grandboys were happy to go on that outing with him.
Meanwhile...over in Hawaii...Abe, Klarissa, Newland, Wynne and Magnus were enjoying the beautiful scenery...
...and doing what Newland's shirt was promoting--"hang loose."
