Logan's Baptism

Jacob's family had planned to come visit over their spring break. Logan had recently turned 8-years-old and thought it would be a good thing to have his grandpa baptize him. They combined their planned vacation with his baptism. Great idea!!

We loved seeing the family once again. We only see these little darlings once a year and we had been missing them!
Baptism day arrived and Logan got his day started off right by helping his grandpa make French toast for breakfast.

Since baptism day was also St. Patrick's Day, there was a green theme going on--even down to the milk. YUM!
We had arranged to have Bishop Allen in the Temecula stake help us with our baptism. We arrived well ahead of schedule at the building and were relieved to see the font was nearly filled. Time for photos!

Laurie's friend LeAnn lives a couple of hours north of Temecula, so she made the drive with some of her children to be there for the baptism. Her husband stayed home with a sick child.

The program was fabulous. Bishop Allen conducted. I played the piano and Natalie was the chorister. Luke and Laurie gave the prayers. Natalie and Emma gave the talks. Glen baptized Logan and Jacob confirmed him. Jacob and Bishop Allen were the witnesses. I loved it!! Short and sweet and perfect!!
The Goss family now lives in Temecula. They moved here from Omaha and know Jacob and Laurie. They hadn't made it to the baptism, but came over right after for a visit. We invited them to join the rest of us for lunch at Golden Corral.

The grandchildren had a fun time having other children there.

There was a lot of green going on at this table.
After lunch we went to the Temecula Duck Pond for a few minutes.

Then it was time to go back to the church to watch the Temecula stake roadshows which had a Hollywood theme--with good morals emphasized--going on. We had heard how fabulous they were going to be from Bishop Allen and from the Goss family.
We had to leave a few roadshows early so Glen and I could get in on the tail end of the Farsi New Year Celebration in Del Mar.
There was a fabulous turn-out for their celebration. Persians came in from all over.
It was a pleasure to see our friends President and Sister Clark from the Irvine Mission.

It had been a full day of good activities to do and great people to see. Logan did have a wonderful idea to have his grandpa baptize him!!
We were happy to be part of this momentous occasion.
