Rodeo Houston and Brad Paisley Concert

What an adventure we had on Rodeo Houston day! First up--riding the bus from the parking lot to the stadium grounds.

This is the scene that awaited us upon our destination.
Welcome to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Let's face it. A lot less rain would have been way more welcoming!!!
We went straight to the petting zoo. Those ice cream cups were filled with food pellets.
The animals went wild attacking everyone holding an ice cream cone.

Natalie decided to groom some of the goats.
And Bambi.

Logan decided he didn't want to be attacked by the animals, so he stayed outside with Jacob and me.
Fortunately the livestock show was inside a huge building.

Everyone won a free bandana.
Eating lunch huddled under a crowded tented pavilion trying to stay dry from the rain.

A window ledge provided quite a few minutes' worth of entertainment for the children as they watched all the people gravitating toward the stadium.

We weren't in any hurry to stand out in the rain, so Glen and Jacob kept the children entertained by playing a game with them.
Here we are pointing to Brad Paisley, the performer scheduled for our after-rodeo entertainment.
We hiked all the way up to our seats near the top of the stadium.
We were ready for the rodeo to begin.
When the fireworks went off, Claire was not happy about it.
In fact, she continued to not be happy about being there even with cotton candy within her grasp.
Rodeo antics for several hours.
Then dim the lights for a Brad Paisley concert--our favorite country western singer.

Fun time with the family, the animals, the cowboys and Brad.

Boo for the rain! What a way to damper (or should I say dampen?) the fun! I can't believe how big Natalie and Emma are looking. I mean, it's like they're turning into young women!

Looks like it was a fun excursion though I did gag a little bit seeing all the farm animal touching leading straight into lunch. Hope everyone was able to get a good handwash in before scarfing down their chick-fil-a!
