Jacob and Laurie and Jeff and Sarah and Dallas and Rebecca and All Their Kids Come To Visit

Jacob and Laurie brought their family to town as they were passing through on their way to Oregon to attend Laurie's mother's funeral. It was so wonderful to see them and Natalie and Emma and Luke and Logan again.






It worked out perfectly that Jacob's family came over the Labor Day weekend because Jeff and Sarah and Eli were already planning to be in town then.


Whenever someone comes to town, that always means Dallas and Rebecca bring their family up for a visit. This time they also brought up their home-grown watermelon to share for dinner.




The cousins had fun getting to know each other.







Emma loved making chocolate-covered strawberries with Sarah and she also looked so darn cute working in the office with Glen.



The kids and grandkids were good sports to do some posing outside for some photos.









My parents came to enjoy a cook-out with us and we even talked Mom into playing a fun game with us.






Of course treats were involved, like making Rice Krispie squares and making popcorn.




We saw Jacob, Natalie, Emma and Luke on their way back through to Omaha. Laurie and Logan stayed behind in Oregon for a few days and then flew home. They got out of the super long car ride, but they definitely missed a great pizza dinner with us.



It was nice to have all 7 grandchildren under the same roof together, if but for a short time. We love all the kids and all the grandkids. Come back soon!!

Sunday In Clifton, Idaho

When we met up with Dad, Mom and Nani, we found that the girls had a white theme going on. Aren't we cute? The guys weren't quite as coordinated, but still very handsome.



We went to Idaho because my Uncle Lyle and Aunt Carol Henderson had returned home from their mission to North Carolina. They gave some great talks at church and then we ate a delicious meal in the city building next door to the church. I got a kick out of the sign that was on the side of that building.

Final Fun For Us At the Cabin

Our last day at the cabin found us doing some of our favorite leisurely activities. We all participated in a horseshoe team competition.



When people weren't playing, they found anything available to sit upon to rest and watch the others throwing the horseshoes.


I was even roped into participating in the event and did myself proud by scoring a ringer on my first throw.



It was most embarrassing that I didn't score another point on any of the rest of my throws and it probably goes without saying that team Thomas did not win the competition. Sorry, Glen!!

Our favorite pastime during any free time we had was to play games. We girls played all the time and loved to talk and laugh and carry on while playing. So fun!! That last day we got the men involved in playing games with us. Lots of fun as well!!





Of course we had to do more talking and eating one last meal together before we left our friends to come on back home.



As we were driving past Ogden, we hooked up with Andy and Amanda so that we could return the helmet we'd borrowed from them.


We had been eating such delicious and filling meals at the cabin and it was nice to continue on with the delicious and filling trend by meeting them at Texas Roadhouse for dinner to end our trip.
