The Sabbath Day at Aspen Grove began as usual with breakfast. Can I just exclaim and remark and marvel about the blessing it is that Aspen Grove takes care of all the food for all three meals for all of us for the whole week. That is an amazing blessing to all of us!!
Because we only have to worry about eating the food and not buying the food, preparing the food, and cleaning up after all the food has been eaten--that leaves us free to spend the rest of the time enjoying ourselves. It is wonderful!!!!!!!
The adults in the camp were invited to attend Relief Society and Priesthood classes with the counselors and staff that run Aspen Grove. There were no Primary or youth group Sunday School classes like there were two years ago.
We think it was because it was the first week and they hadn't yet called the teachers to those age groups. I don't think the young ones were sad about not having the extra hour of church.
This was the room with a beautiful view where Relief Society was held. The men were in the room right next to this.
We met up with our families for sacrament meeting at the amphitheater. So fun to have church in the great outdoors surrounded by nature.

All the Aaronic Priesthood boys were recruited to help pass the sacrament. We had Spencer, Eli and Logan from our group helping to pass the sacrament.
After church, Aspen Grove was offering to take family photos. Instead of waiting in line for our family's turn, we decided to go down by the river and have Dallas take our family's photos.
This is quite the group of people and quite the feat to get everyone cooperating and looking at the camera. Nice job, Dallas!!
Don't know how much photo shopping went into this finished product, but we appreciate the group photos so much!
The rest of the afternoon and evening we spent doing things with our family. The older ones got a wallyball game going.
Each family took a turn getting their photo taken. I just love family photos!!!!!
The reward for being cooperative at picture taking was lunch. YUM!!
There were a few organized group games in the afternoon, one of which was Bingo.

The youngsters always liked going to the playground.
We spent many a night at the courts playing pickleball. Laurie has become an avid fan of playing the game as she plays with women in her ward and also a group of people in her neighborhood. She plays pickleball several times a week.
Caroline tried her skill at badminton.
I was pretty much sitting on the sidelines with whichever grandchildren were taking a rest.
I do not think I ever got hot the whole time we were at Aspen Grove. I, personally, thought it was cool during the days and it was FREEZING in the evenings. I would bundle up with two or three jackets under my sweatshirt every night.
Kade even got cold and burrowed underneath the blanket in the wagon after he stopped running around.
By the end of the evening, I had another sweatshirt wrapped around me like a scarf for added warmth.
Who knew the girl who has been notoriously hot and sweaty her whole life would be so cold this week.
