4-Wheeling at Island Park

Our vacation group loved going 4-wheeling the second day we were there. Kossins had 4 machines for us to use, so that meant we needed to rent another one. Glen and I took care of getting the rental machine and were ready to join the group when they were gassing up for the big adventure.

We took off on the trail and then the road that took us to Mesa Falls.

Here are the men standing in front of the Inn at Mesa Falls--Bruno, Glen, Lane, Rick and Grant.

And here are the women posing on the trail leading down to the falls--Debi, Diane, me, LaVona and Colleen.

The trail came out at the top of the falls and we walked on a boardwalk down a path so we could get different angles of the breathtakingly beautiful view of the falls.

Our other meal assignment for the vacation was providing the sack lunch for the outing that day. We ate our sack lunches at a picnic area near the falls. The guys then had fun finding the helmets that they had hidden in the bushes so we didn't have to carry them everywhere we went--kind of like going on an Easter egg hunt.

It turned cold and started to rain a little. I was glad we had brought our coats to keep us warm and was happy we had worn bandanas to keep the dirt out of our nose and mouth and was especially thrilled that my helmet had a face guard to protect against the gigantic bug that hit and splattered on it.

We saw moose while on our ride and we definitely saw some beautiful country everywhere we went.

Island Park Cabin Vacation

It's nice to have great friends. It's really nice to have great friends to go with on vacation. It's super nice to have great friends who invite you to vacation with them at their luxurious vacation homes. This time it was a vacation cabin located in Island Park. Bruno and Colleen Kossin welcomed us and three other couples to their beautiful cabin (that we called a lodge because it was so big and spacious). I loved that it was actually made of logs and that it had an antler chandelier hanging in the two-story living room. Each room was themed and we were assigned the bear bedroom.

Each couple had two meals assigned to prepare for the entire group. Upon arrival, Bruno and Colleen were busy grilling a delicious spare ribs dinner that we very much appreciated because we were hungry after our afternoon of traveling and making a stop in Logan for Glen to call on a customer. Lane and LaVona Lewis and Grant and Diane Stewart also got there in time for dinner and then Rick and Debi Winder arrived at bedtime.

We were up the next morning fixing Glen's famous french toast breakfast (my contribution was heating up the syrup and the pre-cooked bacon) before the guys left to go golfing. We girls took a nice, long hike.

LaVona treated us to a delicious panini sandwich lunch that day. We had a lazy afternoon of lounging, playing basketball, gun shooting, and horseshoes, etc.

For dinner we drove into West Yellowstone to eat at Bruno and Colleen's favorite pizza place.

G&K (&D&R&B&C) at the G&K Work Party

G&K sponsored a work party at a park last Saturday and Glen was in charge of bringing the food.

Company parties are now a lot more fun with Dallas as an employee.

The big, blow-up toys were a hit with the little granddaughters.

Here comes Chef Glen--who didn't really do the cooking, but wore an apron to look official.

The hamburgers and hot dogs were delicious, but it seems that Brooke and Caroline loved the brownie dessert the best.

Dallas took Brooke and Caroline into the G&K truck so they could see what it's like from the inside looking out.

So glad Dallas & Rebecca & Brooke & Caroline could make it to the party!
