Quotes of the Week

"To be happy, you don't have to do anything new. You just have to remember how to believe again... Believe everything good is possible. Believe in your dreams. Believe in people. Believe in love. But most of all... Believe in yourself."
-- Doe Zantamata

"Remember, happiness doesn't depend upon who you are or what you have, it depends solely upon what you think."
 -- Dale Carnegie

"No thought stands still. A thought either takes you towards where you wish to go or away from it. So all you need to do if you wish to become successful is spend some time inside your mind weeding out or de-bugging your mind of all the thoughts which do not help get you where you want to go."
 -- Andy Shaw

Quotes of the Week

"Life can be difficult sometimes, it gets bumpy. What with family and kids and things not going exactly like you planned. But that's what makes it interesting. In life the first act is always exciting. The second act, that is where the depth comes in."
-- Joyce Van Patten

"Live your truth. Express your love. Share your enthusiasm. Take action towards your dreams. Walk your talk. Dance and sing to your music. Embrace your blessings. Make today worth remembering."
 -- Steve Maraboli

"The potential of the average person is like a huge ocean unsailed, a new continent unexplored, a world of possibilities waiting to be released and channeled toward some great good."

G&K Lagoon Day

G&K had a company Lagoon day again this year and with that came another day of wearing matching t-shirts. Love the bright green color! (WARNING: You will be seeing green by the time you finish reading this blog entry.)
Looks like someone is photobombing us. For anyone reading this who doesn't know what that means, here's the definition: "to drop in a photo unexpectedly, to hop in a picture right before it is taken."
Pretty soon we had another little person who wanted to be a part of our photo session.
Then a third little girl hopped in.
Look! Here comes a fourth little photobomber.
He sidled himself up next to Glen's leg and stood there timidly waiting to be included in the now-group shot.
Just wished Eli and Spencer had joined in with Carson, Brooke, Madison and Caroline. Cute grandchildren!
The rides were fun. Most everyone got wet on this boat ride--except Madison and me. She was sleeping soundly in her stroller.

I turned out to be quite the awesome babysitter that day. Got Madison to sleep three different times. This was the first time when we were watching Eli ride the bumper cars again and again and again. It was his favorite ride.
Brooke liked to know where she was at all times, so she studiously studied the map. She also liked to point out she rode all the roller coasters at the park. Every one of them. She had no fear. Glen was urging her to go on the exciting rides and she turned out to be a very willing rider.
Madison woke up just in time for us to be able to go on the train ride with the rest of the family.
Snack time while watching Brooke and Glen riding Screamer.
Lunchtime at the G&K pavilion.

Someone sure looks happy. Okay, the other two of us look happy as well. Who isn't happy at Lagoon?!?!?
Believe me when I say I was so much happier sitting in this semi-air-conditioned building patiently waiting for a show to begin.

So glad Jeff and Sarah were able to come with us again. We were especially happy there were extra t-shirts for them to wear to feel more a part of the great big, happy G&K family.
Thanks, G&K, for providing a full day of family fun!
Farewell, Lagoon, until next year...we hope...providing G&K has another very profitable year!

Quotes of the Week

"With everything that has happened to you, you can either feel sorry for yourself or treat what has happened as a gift. Everything is either an opportunity to grow or an obstacle to keep you from growing. You get to choose."
 -- Wayne W. Dyer

"Life is truly a ride. We're all strapped in and no one can stop it. When the doctor slaps your behind, he's ripping your ticket and away you go. As you make each passage from youth to adulthood to maturity, sometimes you put your arms up and scream; sometimes you just hang on to that bar in front of you. But the ride is the thing. I think the most you can hope for at the end of life is that your hair's messed, you're out of breath, and you didn't throw up."
-- Jerry Seinfeld

"If you spend your whole life waiting for the storm, you'll never enjoy the sunshine."
 -- Morris West
