What Do We Do For An Entire Week While In Ft.. Lauderdale?

Let's face it--Glen claims we planned to spend a week in Ft. Lauderdale so we could relax and enjoy a vacation together before getting on our cruise ship. Has anyone ever seen Glen relax? Here he is doing some work while eating a quick breakfast at the airport on our way out of town.

BUT, we ALL know that the real and only reason we are spending a week in Ft. Lauderdale is because he wanted to go to the BYU football game in Tallahassee. GO COUGS!!

Fortunately for me, there were enough diversions to help me enjoy the football game experience (despite the 7-hour drive there and the 7-hour drive back). Larry and Debbie Isaksen met us at Olive Garden for a delicious lunch before the game.

Klarissa's family also joined in the ball game fun and we hooked up with them at the Civic Center where the Cougar Club was hosting a tailgate party for all the die-hard fans.

Then off to the stadium we went to sit in the blazing hot sun to watch the ball game that is now history and not worth remarking about because BYU was not the winning team that day. GO COUGS...!?!?

Klarissa, all these previous pictures were for you so you could see your family. These next pictures are for Sarah who wants to know what the condo looks like. We love it. From the wrap-around balcony, you can see the ocean in one direction and the intracoastal waterway in the other direction.

We really enjoyed taking a water taxi so we could see sights all along the intracoastal waterway, which consisted of seeing lots of rich people's homes and their yachts parked out in front of their homes. I love how the neighborhoods are arranged in blocks like in a town, but the roads are waterways and what is sitting out front of their property is a gigantic water vessel of some kind.

Dinner at the 15th Street Fisheries was great because we got there in time for the tarpon feeding entertainment during our meal. Great view there by the water.

Jacob and Laurie and Jeff and Sarah and Dallas and Rebecca and All Their Kids Come To Visit

Jacob and Laurie brought their family to town as they were passing through on their way to Oregon to attend Laurie's mother's funeral. It was so wonderful to see them and Natalie and Emma and Luke and Logan again.

It worked out perfectly that Jacob's family came over the Labor Day weekend because Jeff and Sarah and Eli were already planning to be in town then.

Whenever someone comes to town, that always means Dallas and Rebecca bring their family up for a visit. This time they also brought up their home-grown watermelon to share for dinner.

The cousins had fun getting to know each other.

Emma loved making chocolate-covered strawberries with Sarah and she also looked so darn cute working in the office with Glen.

The kids and grandkids were good sports to do some posing outside for some photos.

My parents came to enjoy a cook-out with us and we even talked Mom into playing a fun game with us.

Of course treats were involved, like making Rice Krispie squares and making popcorn.

We saw Jacob, Natalie, Emma and Luke on their way back through to Omaha. Laurie and Logan stayed behind in Oregon for a few days and then flew home. They got out of the super long car ride, but they definitely missed a great pizza dinner with us.

It was nice to have all 7 grandchildren under the same roof together, if but for a short time. We love all the kids and all the grandkids. Come back soon!!
