Abe & Klarissa & The Scarlet Pimpernel

The much-anticipated event finally arrived. Abe and Klarissa came to town and we ate dinner at Ruby Tuesday before going to see "The Scarlet Pimpernel".

Nielsen's Frozen Custard was our stop on the way home.

Next day Abe donned his BYU shirt for the football game.

Klarissa looked beautiful in blue on Sunday.

Abe and Klarissa had their moments with Caroline.

Too bad A & K had to leave for the airport before popcorn time. Brooke made sure her Grandpa fixed some for her.

Brooke had fun feeding Glen some of the popcorn and giving him a kiss for his efforts.

I wonder if Caroline will like popcorn as much as Brooke.

Sitting Between Two Extreme BYU Fans = Boring Time For Me

I don't know what's happened to Kenny, but he's apparently not the avid BYU fan that he once used to be because

#1 he planned a vacation during football season, and
#2 he is missing two home games in the process.

SO, because of that oversight or whatever else you want to call it--I became the ??lucky?? recipient of Kenny's unused ticket(s). Fortunately for me (I guess...), the first game happened to be the week that Steven and Patricia Morgan were coming up from Albuquerque to watch the game and Glen very happily gave them some tickets. That meant I actually had a friend there to sit by, but I'm not sure that was any kind of a bonus to me as she's as much into the game as Glen is and some of you know he's not much fun to sit by during a game as I'll illustrate a little later.

We kept with tradition and went to a pre-game meal--this time at The Pizza Factory.

Dallas and Rebecca joined us with their cute little girls:

the adorable, double-dimpled Caroline,

and busy Brooke who was excited that her Grandpa was buying her some candy.

The Morgans had their niece, Rachel, with them which was quite confusing to Brooke when she was told this girl is Rachel...

and she doesn't look anything like the cousin Rachel that she knows and was playing bubbles with at the last family dinner.

Just as I'd feared, Patricia just wanted to watch the game and not do any regular talking--just game talking, and we're lucky to get her to look away from the game for a minute to take this photo.

This is how Glen watches a game. Not only does he want to be in his seat a whole hour before the game starts (WHY?!? when the game lasts for hours and hours and hours), but then he plugs himself into a headset radio which totally blocks out any and all hope of conversation with him.

One thing I had going for me this game was that at least Glen was happy during the game because BYU was always winning and he was in a good mood after the game and actually spoke to me much later in the evening--after all the post-game re-hash had been listened to.

Boy, with this recent experience, I can HARDLY WAIT for the NEXT game!!!

Is this where I'm now supposed to say GO COUGS!!!!????

Abe's Road Trip With Rich

Abe is such a great friend. He offered to drive with Rich from Salt Lake to Seattle. Rich has finished his schooling at BYU and is moving on.

We only got to see Abe for one short night before he took off with Rich. But, never fear--he'll be back in town again this weekend and this time Klarissa gets to come with him.

Anyone Interested In A "Free" Chick-Fil-A

Our Labor Day this year included a must visit to Chick-Fil-A. I love Chick-Fil-A and all day on Labor Day you could get a free sandwich as long as you were wearing your team's colors.

So I pulled some of my BYU T-shirts and shared them with our friends and we went off to Chick-Fil-A for lunch. What a great time eating a great sandwich. The only down side was I could not get ALL of my friends to don BYU apparel.

Third Weekend With Jeff and Sarah

We just can't seem to get enough of Jeff and Sarah these days. This time we went down to Cedar City to hook up with them. We stayed at our favorite hotel--Abbey Inn--where Glen set up shop to do a conference call. J & S joined us in our room for lunch during their break from classes.

After Sarah's last class we went to a movie and then hooked up with Jeff for dinner at the Pizza Factory after he got off work.

On the campus of SUU, we watched the outdoor green show--part of the Shakespearean Festival--before we went to see a play.

The next morning the guys had a great time golfing while we girls did none other than...

SHOP!!!!!

Who do you think had the most fun?!?!?????
