Benjamin decided he wanted to go visit Abe and Klarissa in San Francisco before leaving on his mission. Glen and I went along for the ride (or to be his ride or something like that).
When we arrived at our hotel in Reno, I realized I hadn't been given an invitation to participate in the Women's Bowling Tournament being held there. Guess I won my trophy too late in the season to qualify for the competition.

We attended the Oakland Temple.

Abe had us believing we were going to the opera the first evening. Notice the smile on Glen's face when he looked at the "opera" tickets.

Instead, Abe had secured some box seat tickets, through his work, to the baseball game that evening.

We arrived at the AT&T Park just in time for the 7:30 p.m. game.

The stadium had a beautiful setting right there by the water.

We had all the food and drinks we could eat.

The San Francisco Giants beat the Oakland A's. It was interesting to watch the seagulls swarm the field as everyone was leaving.

Next morning started with breakfast at Sears Fine Food.

Here's Benjamin standing on the street where Abe and Klarissa live.

We went to the Cable Car Museum.

Then it was off to Ghirardelli Square for an ice cream treat.

Abe left us for a while to go home and do some work. The rest of us walked around by the wharf. Ben liked the silver man begging for money.

We watched the breadmakers through the window as they were turning lumps of raw dough into different sourdough animals.

Further down the street, we noticed some commotion going on around a sewer drain and went over to investigate.

The guy in purple had a string that he was putting down the sewer to try and hook some keys onto what he'd tied onto the end of the string.

Ben was enjoying the whole thing so much and especially liked it when the guy in the white hat came along to offer assistance.

Kodak moment at the end of the wharf.

Here's Ben with Alcatraz in the background.

We spent quite a while watching the sea lions. It was beautiful, warm and sunny those days we were in San Francisco.

Glen was "like a kid in a candy store" as he was loading up on all the candy.

Ben chewed lots of gum at once and had a great time seeing how many big bubbles he could blow.

We made a stop at Costco to get some groceries for Sunday before going to pick Abe up from the apartment.

Then off we went to dinner at Sushi Ran in Sausalito--located across the Golden Gate Bridge.

Yes, this is Ben about to put some raw fish into his mouth. He was very brave...putting it in...chewing it up...and then spitting it out into his napkin.

Our after-dinner entertainment was going to see the movie "Up". All that candy we bought earlier in the day became our snack during the movie.

As if sushi and candy weren't enough for one evening, the guys decided to order some pizza from Uncle Vito's--which was the staple of Abe's diet all those months before he married Klarissa.

We went to church with Abe and Klarissa.

While dinner was cooking, we took a walk through Chinatown.

Doesn't Ben almost look like one of the natives?

Klarissa and Abe cooked us a delicious Sunday dinner.

We ended our time together watching a ball game and playing cards in our hotel room.

Glen even brought home a souvenir to remind him of our trip--a parking ticket he received when we were eating our sushi dinner.

It was a fun trip and we appreciated Abe and Klarissa and the wonderful time they showed us while in San Francisco!!
