Day 2--Rafting on Abe and Klarissa's Anniversary

What better way to start off Abe and Klarissa's first anniversary than by watching a parade with them?

Everyone was eagerly awaiting the parade to begin.

Most people enjoyed seeing the stagecoaches...

...and the covered wagons go by.

My personal favorite was watching the Saddle Tramps--who came by not once, but twice.

Then it was off to the Mad River Boat Trips to get fitted with wetsuits.

Here we have a little Trekkie moment with the freshly-suited group.

The rafters boarded a bus that took them to their drop-off location. I followed along behind in the car. I was the self-designated photographer of their river run.

Instructions were given on how to put on the life jackets and how to use them to pull people back into the raft should anyone go overboard.

The life jackets and helmets were put on.

The oars were handed out.

I kissed my husband good-bye.

They climbed aboard their raft #13.

And then they headed off down the river.

They're headed toward the rapids.

Everyone hold on!!

Ride over.

They all survived!!

Benjamin must have been allergic to the wetsuit because he had a rash all over his body.

Lunch after the river at Taco Bell.

Ben was proud to show us where he had hiked with his Priest Quorum.

We took a walk around Jenny Lake.

The newlyweds on the Jenny Lake bridge on their first anniversary.

Klarissa at the entrance to the Bar J Chuckwagon Supper.

The hungry group anxiously awaiting our chuckwagon supper.

The happy couple again on their anniversary.

Ben, Sarah and Jeff chillin' at the Bar J.

The cowboys...

The cowgirls...

We got there too late to enjoy eating scones at the dutch oven cook wagon.

That made the food all that much more delicious.

Couldn't get any better than this--being with your family on your first anniversary!

Day 1--Jackson Hole on Glen's Birthday

Memorial Day weekend found the Thomas family heading off on a trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It just so happened to be Glen's birthday, which Klarissa took great sport in letting everyone know about. At Gandolfo's, our lunch stop, the owner came out to wish Glen a happy day and join in singing "Happy Birthday" to him.

Upon arrival, everyone got settled in their own rooms. Abe and Klarissa in theirs...

Jeff and Sarah in theirs...

and this is how happy Benjamin was about having to share a room with his parents.

It was nice to see the loving way the two newlyweds looked at each other.

We checked out the brochures in the hotel lobby for fun things to do in the area.

The group went walking around the town of Jackson to see what there was to see.

Of course there was the famous antler archways leading into the central town park.

Who could resist a touristy pose in front of a giant, stuffed buffalo with lighted, antler wreaths in the background?

There was a sign that reminded us of the birthday boy.

Here's a little rest stop made on a bench under the covered, wooden walkway.

The Teton Steakhouse was the restaurant Glen chose for his birthday dinner meal.

They so kindly offered him a blue, birthday balloon which the waitress tied around his wrist so he had to wear it on his walk back through town.

The balloon remained intact as we arrived at The Trapper Inn where we were staying.

Our rooms were located on the middle, upper level.

The group chose to end the day by going to a quaint, little movie theater right near our hotel to see "Terminator".

What a great birthday for my husband!
