Rebecca's Birthday Dinner

Friday evening we met Dallas, Rebecca, Brooke and Benjamin at Tepanyaki for Rebecca's belated birthday dinner.

While waiting for our food to come, Brooke entertained herself by playing with the sauce dishes. We're sure the three people who joined us at our table didn't mind her little baby fingers all over their dishes...

Then Brooke entertained all of us with the terrified expression on her face when she looked over and saw the fire at the other table.

The birthday girl tried her best to catch the shrimp that was tossed at her with her mouth.

Our food was delicious and we got to hear some college stories from Ben while we were eating.

To finish off the evening, Brooke helped her Grandpa get all of the falling bubble gums out of the gumball machine.

Glen and Ben didn't seem to mind that Brooke was having a hard time catching every single gumball and a couple of them rolled onto the floor. Oh, well! Can't catch them all!

Started the Mission Paperwork

We hooked up with Benjamin in Provo the other day to get his mission stuff going. Our first stop was Costco to get a passport photo taken. Off we went to the post office to apply for a passport. Brooke was happy to see Ben when we got to their house.

We gave Brooke a new, pink bucket that day to use for storing all her toys. She wanted to put herself inside it instead, and Dallas started thinking about what a great sled it would make in lieu of the diaper box he'd used earlier in the winter to pull her around in the snow.

While connected to the internet, Glen got all of our son's information recorded in the computer and then Dallas printed off the papers for Benjamin to sign.

It has now all officially begun. Where in the world will he be called???

February Birthday Girls

Last Sunday was our monthly birthday dinner celebration. Rebecca was one of the honorees having a birthday in February. An honorable mention was made on Jeff's behalf--wish he and Sarah could have been here!! And my good old brother, Mark, should be happy to know he had an honorable absentee mention as well (he's always so worried he'll be forgotten)--as did Thadeus.

Rebecca was so happy that her Grandma made the dessert she had hoped for--Oreo cream pie--and heart-shaped, no less. What a great Grandma she has!!

Rachel was so cute that day because it was her actual birthday and she was so excited about it. Maggie was excited as well telling us her birthday would be in 11 days. She'll be 8 and will be getting baptized 2 days later.

We appreciate the effort Mom and Dad go to each month setting up the house, cooking the delicious food (yummy roast beef again this month!) and cleaning up their house after we leave.

Here's our February birthday girl standing by her Grandma. And here's proof that the girl is expecting baby #2 and has broken out the maternity clothes.

Can anyone tell just by looking at her whether it's a boy or a girl? The big reveal will happen soon...

A Night with Bronco

Kim and I had an outstanding Friday the 13th. We had a nice dinner, got to listen to some BYU singers and then the highlight was we got to listen to Bronco Mendenhall, the BYU football coach. It was an interesting and fun evening. Kim was such a good sport to go.

I apologize for the blurry photo. Alas, we forgot the camera and the phone camera was a little shaky by our photographer.

Hearts From Some Sweethearts

I could hardly wait for February to come around so that I could display the beautiful, homemade pillow that Natalie stitched for me along with all the other heart decorations.

The pillow looks so nice on the shelf in the bathroom and it makes me happy every time I look at it.

The other night someone rang our doorbell and when we answered the door, we found that we had received a "heart attack" and a sack of heart-shaped sugar cookies from the Achievement Day girls.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!

Snowmobiling on the Summit

A couple of weekends ago we went to Elkhorn Ridge Estates on Malad Summit in Idaho.

Glen has been working on marketing for this project with Wayne Scholle, and the guys decided to bring their wives--Kathy and me--along for this particular activity.

It was so cold in the unfinished cabin, where they were serving the food, that you could see your breath.

Dallas was there, also.

He had been up there a previous weekend to do some promotional filming of the ice fishing at a nearby lake. This time he was shooting some promotional footage to get people excited about the upcoming snowmobile races.

He needed some subjects to get on the machines and make it look like they were having the time of their lives out on the snowpacked land. Of course, Glen (the masked man) volunteered.

After much coaxing and lots of instruction, I consented to give it a try.

It was exhilerating making the machine go fast--at everyone's insistence--so Dallas could get some good footage.

Are we selling the idea that people have fun when they are snowmobiling at Elkhorn Ridge Estates?

Here is a link of the video that Dallas shot of all the "fun" we had.

P.S. The guy being pulled on the tube is Glen...
